In the early 1960s, the history of Rickenbacker® forever joined one of the greatest twentieth – century musical disorders: the invasion of the Beatles in Liverpool, England. The Beatles created an unprecedented international interest in Rickenbackers.
John Lennon would own at least four models, the double bond of George Harrison 360/12 (the second made by the company) defined a new tone at the other end of the audio spectrum. His sound timbre beautified “You can not do that”, “Eight Days a Week”, “A Night of difficult days”, “ticket to ride” to name a few.
Jim McGuinn made the quality of his tone bell outside the base of the original Byrds style. The Who’s Pete Townshend, John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Kay of Steppenwolf and many other known guitarists of the 1960s became loyal users of Rickenbacker®.
